MPG Foresight Trial

Goal:

The aim of this mission is to kill the 6 perma rooted, non summoning Dragorns around the edge of the zone. While doing this the raid force must contend with 'Emotes' asking them to preform certain actions, failure to do this action results in the toon taking alot of damage, ranging from 5k up to 9.5k

How to set up Sound Triggers:

This fight is needed in order to unlock anguish, and is hard to coordinate. Voices telling you what to do realy help.

DOWNLOAD SOUND TRIGGERS HERE, and unzip it to : C:/<Everquest Directory>/Audio Triggers/Default

In game you will have to click on "trigger set" and click default to refresh the folder.

Just use those accordingly =), I know I do to avoid confusion.

Your audios should be set up something like:

The north side looks safe. mpg_north
The center looks safe. mpg_center
The south side looks safe. mpg_south
The west side looks safe. mpg_west
The east side looks safe. mpg_east
You escape the blast the blast unscathed. mpg_safe
position. You should move. mpg_move
movement. You should stand still. mpg_stand_still
head. You should duck. mpg_duck
An arrow narrowly misses you. mpg_dod_arrow

Hail the Projection and say [Foresight] to gain the trial.

  • Position the raid force on the central platform and explain the event to them.
  • Have EVERYONE remove finger rings.
  • Have casters remove primarys.
  • Caution melees to be ready to uneqiup primary in the event that their ''weapon gets hot''
  • Make sure all have some form of levitation to make travelling around the room easier.
  • Create a new window, filter OTHERS into it. This will make spotting the emotes alot faster/easier.
  • Assign a dispelling to follow the melees around dispelling the damage shield when its announced.
  • If 1 person dies, another person will have to deal with double the emotes to make up for the person that died. More deaths keep adding up to more emotes for other people.

Room AE: (5k damage if you fail to move)
These always give: The room explodes with chaotic energy.

If you dodge it you also get: You escape the blast unscathed.

Kyv arrows: (Failing to move 6k ddmg, failing to standstill 6700 and failing to duck 9500).

If you dodge you these you get: An arrow narrowly misses you.

If you fail to dodge them you get: You are struck by a stray arrow!

  • From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim at your position. You should move.
  • From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim near your position. He appears to be leading the target, anticipating your next movement. You should stand still.

    -your weaponry cools down
-you have sucessfully loaded bandolier Blunt.
-a hazard begins to cast a spell.
  • Finger Rings will also emote you..
-a hazard begins to cast a spell.

Melees will start at Dragorn Annihilator(Pedastal 1). They will dps this Dragorn first and move round clockwise from there.

Rangers will use Trueshot at the start and Bow Dps Dragorn Flamecaster(Pedastal 3)

Nukers will start at Acolyte(Pedastal 6) and work anti clockwise from there.

Doters (Shamans/Druids/Necros) will stack there DoTs on Acolyte and work Anti-Clockwise from there. Keep in mind, these mobs don't summon, so stack those dots like mad, on multiple mobs!

As time goes on the emotes will increase in speed and difficulty, thus, its best to burn all dps discs and full burn of mana from the start. A dead rogue with full discs is a waste. Also, at teh start melees spend alot longer time dps'ing the mobs rather than running around. So with that in mind, the first thing to tell your raid force is pop all pets at the start, buff the pets maxed, pop discs from start and go full out form the begining.

Aggro on these dragorns is hard to hold, and with running back and forth, it will be hard to hold, the warriors in the maintank group will need to fight to hold aggro. Never rely a heal is inc as your cleric could be busy fighting an emote, so always back out of melee range when low of health.

When a Dragorn is about to PBAE or has a Damage shield/Caster shield on, call it in Rsay and get it Dispelled. Running back from a room emote into a PBAE +Dmg shield is the most common reason melees die.

Casters, when asked to move to a side of the room, you don't have to wait till back at the centre to start nuking again, nuke from there!

How to beat the emotes!

What im about to write is proberly a little overkill on beating these emotes, some of you may have beaten them without follwing all my guidelines, but, play it safe, what im about to write down, if followed will garuntee you won't die to the emotes.

Room Emote
The room begins to heat up dramatically. The ***** side looks safe.
Simple one this. Move yourself to the wall indicated in the emote and wait for You escape the blast unscathed

Kyv Arrows

From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim at your position. You should move.
1. Take note of the point you was at when the emote appeared. Make sure you are far away form this area when the emote triggers.
2. Make sure you are moving and not standing still when the emote triggers.

From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim near your position. He appears to be leading the target, anticipating your next movement. You should stand still.
1. Take note of the EXACT point you was standing at when the emote appeared. Be at that exact place when the emote triggers off.
2. Make sure you are not moving or ducked when the emote triggers.

From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim at your head. You should duck.
Easiest one to beat and thus the most punishing on a fail. Hit your duck key and stay ducked for the duration of the emote. Moving around is fine aslong as you remain ducked.

The Dragorn before you is developing an anti-magic aura.
-Dragorn flamecasters begins to cast a spell.
Dispell the offending dragorn and don't nuke untill its dispelled.

The Dragorn before you is sprouting sharp spikes.
-Dragorn spellscribe begins to cast a spell.
Dispell the offending Dragorn. Melee attack off untill its dispelled.

The Weapon in your right hand begins to heat up dramatically. You should remove it.
Uneqiup your primary, holding it on he mouse counter is fine.

You notice that the Dragorn before you is preparing to cast a devastaing spell. Doing enough damage to him might interupt the process.
-The dragorn shivers about to explode-
-The dragorn shivers about to explode-
-Dragorn flamecaster explodes in a ball of fire.-
-Dragorn Flamecaster begins to cast a spell.

This one is all about judgement, if your force is in place meleeing when this appears, don't worry about it, but if half your melees are not clsoe and running around for a room emote, then stay off the offending Dragorns Pedastal.

Tips for Foresight
There is alot to take in on this raid. Posting guides on your forums to the emotes helps. But spamming the force at the start with the main dangers goes a long way also.
A new window with OTHERS in it works, uneqiup finger rings works. Casters unequip primary works.
Have non melees sit in the centre at the start, the room emotes will send you to the centre until first two dragorns are dead.
Burn discs at the start, go full on out!
NO AFK'S!

The room emotes (ie north, south, east or center looks safe) which everyone gets, do 5k base damage. The kyv arrows, which are individual, are 7500k, but the headshot if you don't duck is 10k.

They do cheat some. If you are beating on one mob and get the emote that it is about to cast a "devastating close-range spell" so you switch to another target, the new dragorn may cast the same spell (5k damage). The same holds true for the damage shields. You only see the emote for your target, but others may be putting up their shields as well. So its best to back off all of them for a bit.

Everyone needs to do their best to stay alive above all else. Because when you die, the Kyv emotes that would have gone to you go to someone else. After awhile they are just coming too fast and furious to keep up with them.

messages about the room are seen by the raid as a whole, "The room begins to heat up, the center looks safe"

messages about Kyvs are seen by individuals "Out of the corner of your eye, you see a kyv sureshot tracing your path with his bow. You should stand still"

Okay 4/21/05 on Zebuxoruk Iratus Lepus beat this trial. This is after the changes which made this quite a bit harder. We were a non anguish geared guild when doing this. All I can say is good luck on it and listening and paying attention are key. It;s simon sez gone to hell if you dont pay attention. AFK people kill the raid easily. Also considering that some emotes hit for 7350 and there can be multiple at one time. I suggest you be geared properly for this. Deaths in this are very bad.

there is no specific order. it's completely random. as more people die, the faster the emotes come as well. took us three tries. first try we put dps on a couple of the of the surrounding mobs (that didn't work). 2nd try we took out surrounding mobs one at a time (last mob to 35% before we wiped). 3rd time same strategey as 2nd time and we finished and got trivial pursuit piece of pie :)

two things you can do to make sure your raid finishes this trial. Make audio triggers for each emote style and have ALL guildies install them. And/Or, make a seperate window for the emote style messages that warn you what to do. The window should be filtered "others" not emote because they aren't true emotes.

I suggest putting emote and/or other to a seperate window during this raid (can't remember if its other or emote or both). Examples of emotes are duck, stand still, move(run to the other side of the room), move to the center of the room, move to the east side of the room, move to the north side of the room, move to the west of the room, move to the south side of the room (actually I think there are only 3 sides to the room but I can't recall the direction). A few seconds after you get the emote if you do it correctly you get the message "an arrow passes by you" if you do not complete the emote in time you get the emote "you have been struck by an arrow" and those arrows hurt lol. There are also emotes where you have to remove you rings and another for you primary weapon or take damage, we always take off our rings before the trial to avoid this one. You can remove you primary before hand unless you need it for dps in which case you just have to watch for the weapon heating up emote.

Ok, I got my info on the emotes for you. These are logs taken from guild members in Haven's Edge.
Quote:
Okay heres what I could find in my log.
Room AE:
The room begins to heat up dramatically. The north side looks safe.
The room begins to heat up dramatically. The center looks safe.
The room begins to heat up dramatically. The south side looks safe.
The room begins to heat up dramatically. The east side looks safe.

These always give:
The room explodes with chaotic energy.

If you dodge it you also get:
You escape the blast unscathed.

These AEs did 4150 damage to me not certain on SS at the time.

Kyv aarows:
From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim at your position. You should move.

From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim near your position. He appears to be leading the target, anticipating your next movement. You should stand still.

From the corner of your eye, you notice a Kyv taking aim at your head. You should duck.

If you dodge you these you get:
An arrow narrowly misses you.

If you fail to dodge them you get:
You are struck by a stray arrow!

Failing to move was 5645 damage, failing to standstill was 6225 and I didn't see a spot I missed a duck, but I think it is noticable higher damage. Again not sure on SS. I always remove both rings and primary and didn't recieve emote for either of them.
